About The Role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-impact engineering solutions while helping shape best-practice systems and lifting capability across the team.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role where precision matters, ideas are valued, and your work contributes directly to pioneering solutions in clean energy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of mechanical engineering solutions from concept through to manufacture
- Perform engineering calculations and ensure designs meet relevant standards and codes
- Develop detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings (SolidWorks)
- Provide technical leadership and troubleshooting on complex engineering challenges
- Mentor and support junior engineers to build team capability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to deliver project outcomes
- Drive continuous improvement across engineering processes, systems, and ways of working
Key Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering (or higher)
- 8+ years’ relevant engineering experience, with hands-on exposure to manufacturing environments
- Strong proficiency in CAD (preferably SolidWorks), including 3D modelling, assemblies, and drawings
- Deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
- Proven ability to solve complex technical problems and deliver practical, well-considered solutions
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams
Nice to Have
- Experience in process industries (e.g. oil & gas, dairy, energy)
- Familiarity with pressure systems or cryogenic applications
- Knowledge of international standards (e.g. ASME BPVC, ASME B31.3, AS1210)
- Working towards or holding CPEng status
- Experience working in multidisciplinary project environments
