Civil Foreman/Site Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Civil Foreman / Site Supervisor to join our growing team in Napier. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality civil construction projects.
About the Role
You will be responsible for leading site crews, coordinating daily operations, and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. This role requires a strong leader who can manage multiple stages of a project while maintaining clear communication with project managers and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise site crews, maintaining productivity and quality standards
Coordinate day-to-day site operations across multiple project stages
Operate and oversee heavy machinery when required
Manage and execute civil construction activities
Maintain and enforce strong health and safety practices on site
Ensure all plant and equipment are operated safely and efficiently
Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents
Liaise regularly with Project Managers to plan upcoming work
Report on project progress and issues as required
Conduct pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, and implement safe work plans
Provide guidance, mentoring, and training to team members
Maintain accurate daily records including quality plans and reporting
Work collaboratively with subcontractors and stakeholders
Take a solutions-focused approach with the ability to see the bigger picture
Ensure compliance with industry best practices and environmental standards
About You
Minimum 5+ years’ experience in the civil construction industry
At least 2–3 years in a supervisory or foreman role (or similar leadership position)
Strong experience operating heavy machinery
Background in earthworks, concrete, formwork, carpentry, or general civil works
Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage crews effectively
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings confidently
Practical, flexible, and hands-on approach
Committed to delivering high-quality workmanship
Full driver’s licence (Class 2 preferred)
