About The Role
We have one Maintenance Fitter vacancy within our Hamilton Manufacturing team working on the Afternoon Shift: 3:30pm - 12:00am, Monday to Friday.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing plant equipment, facilities, and infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and safety. You’ll play a critical role in supporting production teams to meet schedules and delivery commitments.
You Will
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance in line with schedules
- Respond to breakdowns and complete timely repairs
- Identify machine faults and recommend reliability improvements
- Use our CMMS to record work and maintenance activity
- Support Lean/5S and continuous improvement initiatives
- Participate in Practical Problem Solving (PPS) and root cause analysis
- Raise purchase orders and gather quotes for mechanical work
- Work closely with supervisors, production teams, and external contractors
- Help maintain a safe, organised, and high-performing work environment
About You
You’re a practical, trade-qualified fitter who enjoys hands-on maintenance in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. You think ahead, solve problems methodically, and take pride in keeping plant and equipment running reliably.
Ideally, You’ll Bring
- Technical certification in Fitting, Diagnostics, Maintenance or related field, Level 4
- At least 3 years’ experience as a trade-qualified person in manufacturing
- Strong mechanical fault-finding capability
- Experience with Plastics Injection Moulding Machines, hydraulics, pneumatics, machining, or fabrication (desirable)
- Knowledge of PPS/root cause analysis and Lean principles
- Ability to work unsupervised with excellent time management
- Solid IT skills; experience with Excel or SAP is advantageous
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
