An established Tauranga-based law firm is looking to add an experienced Commercial & Property Lawyer to its growing practice. This role suits a lawyer who values strong client relationships and wants a sustainable career within a firm that prioritises balance without compromising on quality.

About the Role

You will work across a broad range of commercial and property transactions, advising clients on complex matters and managing workstreams from instruction through to completion. The role offers a strong mix of transactional variety, client contact, and autonomy, with support available where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing commercial transactions, including business sales and acquisitions
  • Advising on commercial property matters including disposals, leasing, and development projects
  • Acting on property development and subdivision matters from structuring through to completion
  • Structuring transactions using trusts, companies, joint ventures, and other appropriate vehicles
  • Drafting, negotiating, and reviewing commercial and property agreements
  • Developing and maintaining strong, long-term client relationships
  • Mentoring junior lawyers and legal staff where appropriate

About You

  • 4+ years' PQE in commercial and/or property law
  • Strong technical ability with a practical, solutions-focused mindset
  • Confident communicator who builds rapport easily with clients
  • Comfortable managing files and priorities with a high level of autonomy
