General assistant Wanted

Immediate start.

We are looking for 1 PERMANENT full-time (at least 30 hours guaranteed per week, workdays from Monday to Sunday based on roster) competent General assistant. Our work location will be in Queenstown.

We expect the candidate to have at least 2 years’ full time experience in hotel or have a relevant NZ Level 4 certificate or equivalent qualifications. Priority will be given to local NZ residence/citizens.

The duties include:

• Greeting guests on arrival to the motel and making them feel at ease

• Processing check-ins against their booking details

• Allocating guests their rooms and explaining key facilities within the motel

• Taking bookings by phone, online channels or walk ins and recording all details

• Open, sort and route incoming mail, answer correspondence, and prepare outgoing mail

• Helping guests with special requests, for example wake-up services and taxi bookings

• Taking messages and passing them on to guests promptly

• Creating final bills at check-out and processing payments

• Dealing with guest complaints or issues in a timely and professional manner

• Liaising with housekeeping staff to ensure rooms are available for check-in

• Maintain and update filing, motel inventory, mailing, and client database systems

• Speak with people outside the company, including suppliers.

We offer the hourly rate of $25.00-$33.00.
