We actively design packaging to not only perform well, but also to minimise its environmental impact.

We are looking for experienced PD engineers who are passionate about design and development of high performing and sustainable packaging to join our team in Dunedin. This role has plenty of diversity and will work collaboratively alongside our teams in Cooking and Dishwashing products to ensure optimal outcomes. You’ll be involved in all stages of packaging development from initial concept generation, understanding design requirements from key areas of the business (eg product management, distribution chain, interfacing subsystems), solution set design and verification, and implementation to production.

What We’re Looking For…

You'll be an experienced product development engineer with relevant experience in packaging design. You should have knowledge of common handling and distribution methods for getting products from a factory to consumers, and be comfortable performing physical experiments and testing, including performing transit and packaging testing in our in-house testing facilities. Robust planning and creative problem solving is an important aspect of your consistent record of on-time, on-budget work delivery that meets or exceeds requirements.

You'll need to have a Mechanical/Mechatronics/Engineering Science or similar degree with 3+ years’ experience in a Product Development or Design environment specifically developing packaging solutions. A background in complex appliance, automotive or aeronautical industries is desired but not essential.

This role is super hands on, so a hands-on approach and can-do attitude are essential.
