Now, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Playground Technician!

About The Role

Reporting to the Team Manager, you’ll play a key role in maintaining playgrounds, sports courts, fitness equipment, BBQs, bus shelters, waterways, and park furniture across Auckland’s Northern/NorWest region.

Your primary focus will be on the northern run, including the Rodney area, where you’ll spend most of your time. The role involves a significant amount of driving, so comfort with road travel is essential. Occasionally, you may be required to cover the Henderson/Massey or Waitakere areas when needed.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Performing basic handyperson tasks, including playground inspections, minor repairs, and aeration.
  • Cleaning, refurbishments, and maintenance of park assets.
  • Conducting asset validation to ensure compliance and functionality.
  • Supporting the wider team as needed.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone practical, detail-oriented, and passionate about maintaining community spaces.

To Be Successful In This Role, You’ll Bring

  • A broad range of handyperson skills, with previous maintenance experience being an advantage.
  • Completion of a Playground Inspection and Maintenance Course Level 2 (highly desirable, but we’ll train the right candidate).
  • A full, current driver’s licence with the ability to drive a manual vehicle confidently.
  • A strong focus on health and safety and a proactive, positive work ethic.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude – you’ll work closely with the community and your team.
  • Reliability and punctuality, with a can-do attitude and an eye for detail.
