We're looking for a passionate and experienced Chef to join our team at Diocesan School for Girls in Auckland. You'll be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality meals while ensuring food safety, hygiene, and customer satisfaction are always top priority. This is a Permanent Full Time Position.
Ko o Kawenga / Your Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present meals to a high standard, including portioning and plating.
- Maintain kitchen hygiene and food safety, including cleaning and waste management.
- Receive, store, and rotate kitchen supplies to ensure freshness and reduce waste.
- Develop menus that cater to diverse dietary and cultural needs.
- Support and coach kitchen staff, contributing to a positive and productive team environment.
- NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Cookery (or equivalent) and experience in a similar role.
- Able to work under pressure with a positive, professional attitude.
- A team player who can also work independently with a flexible approach.
- Physically fit, reliable, and committed to high hygiene standards.
- Excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering excellent service.
