IDEA Services supports people with intellectual disabilities to enjoy great lives as part of their communities. As a Service Manager this is a rewarding opportunity to work for a meaningful cause within an established not-for-profit organisation.
We're ideally looking for a qualified health professional that's seeking a change of pace (e.g. Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist). We're keen for you to apply your health experience to leading our speciality services in medical or behavioural support. We're open to individuals without health registration who have strong experience in people management and leadership to focus on our general services.
We're looking for a real 'people' person, to build strong relationships with the people we support and their whānau. You will identify individual needs and determine how these can best be achieved. You will lead and guide a team of Support Workers to deliver the best possible outcomes for the people we support. We are looking for someone with the passion and expertise to coach and develop skills within their team.
Responsibilities Include
- Planning and ensuring delivery of support services for people with disabilities
- Managing and developing a strong team of Support Workers
- Building positive relationships with whānau including their involvement in the care of their loved ones
- Planning and coordinating the work of your team to ensure the best service outcomes are achieved (including rostering and staff training)
- Celebrating the achievements of the people we support
- Implementing best practice strategies and managing health & safety requirements
- Preferably: Relevant tertiary qualification within a health or disability service discipline e.g. Occupational Therapy / Nursing / Social Work / Psychology.
- Previous management/leadership experience within the Health and Disability sector.
- Capability to train, coach and lead a team to achieve the best outcomes.
- Relevant technical experience e.g. rostering, budgets, service planning and risk management
- Demonstrated awareness, sensitivity and commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi
- Computer skills, including MS Office Suite, and the ability to learn new systems quickly
- We provide 24/7 services all year round, and the ability to participate in the on-call roster is essential to the delivery of our services
- A full NZ driver licence
