We are looking for a Risk professional to join our growing SkyCity Risk Management team on a permanent basis. As a member of the Group Risk team at SkyCity you will be part of a small but exceptionally capable team charged with delivering high quality output and insight to Senior Management and the Board Risk and Compliance Committee.
Mō te Tūranga | About the Role
As a Manager, provide guidance and support on the implementation of risk management practices across SkyCity, supporting the identification, management and mitigation of risks within the business units.
You will act as a subject matter expert for providing guidance and advice on the implementation of risk frameworks and act as a central point of contact for incidents and issues. As a SME you will need to stay at the forefront of industry related expectations to ensure SkyCity is well positioned to adapt.
This role is high energy, diverse in nature and success in this role will be ability to understand and articulate risks, work collaboratively across the organisation, apply a pragmatic approach through a risk lens and enable the business to understand, prioritise and proactively manage risk.
- Collaborating with business units to enhance risk management activities ensuring a cohesive and proactive approach to risk management.
- Supporting the business with the identification and documentation of risks and controls and risk indicators; providing insight to risk/reward profiling and enhancing risk decision making processes.
- Providing oversight and challenge over the implementation of risk policies and frameworks.
- Performing policy implementation reviews and regular fit for purpose.
- Performing deep dives and run lessons learned exercises.
- Providing support to risk in change activities and assessments.
- Analysing and identify systemic incidents/issues and common root causes supporting management to take appropriate action.
- Staying abreast of key market trends and expectations, implementing the learnings into the risk management processes of SkyCity.
- Proactively engage in risk transformation activities, as required.
Mōu | About You
- Strong experience in Compliance, Risk Management or Audit capacity - preferably in the gaming industry or related section (Financial Services).
- Excellent attention to detail, demonstrable analytical skills & a high level of discretion.
- A self-starter and ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound relationship management skills.
- Ability to manage stakeholder expectations and work to deadlines.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and plan own work effectively and efficiently.
