The role
Vessev is creating a new era of how we move on water, and we need a senior pre-preg builder to join the Build team. The role will be fast-paced and have a real impact on creating something lasting.
Your build experience needs to include a high degree of experience in pre-preg lamination of composite structures for both autoclave and out of autoclave cures, but you do not need to be an expert on building foils. Experience with close moulding of composite structures will be advantageous.
With everyone working out of the same facility, our build teams are tightly integrated and are involved with the project through the design, production engineering, kitting, build and commissioning. Rather than having the design and build team detached from each other, you’ll be able to work close to the source of truth for quick feedback, project input and support. Requirements
We’re looking for a senior pre-preg builder to lead the fabrication of composite parts either individually or with a small team. This is a senior role replacing one of our founding boat building team members who has relocated overseas.
This role will be primarily focused on the fabrication of the foil components, with accosted R&D to help develop and improve our processing capabilities.

Requirements

- Suitable 10+ years of industry experience working
- Boat building qualification preferable
- Lead the fabrication of composite parts either individually or with a small team
- Lead the assembly of structures either individually or with a small team
- Highly skilled in pre-preg construction (autoclave and out of autoclave)
- Skilled in close moulding pre-preg construction is advantageous
- Skilled in the fabrication of pre-preg moulds
- Skilled in the development of pre-preg fabrication processes
- Skilled in structural bonding and taping of composite structures
- Skilled in resin infusion
- Happy to have a specialist area, but prepared to jump into other areas of boat building to help the team deliver the company goals when needed
