Bustling Nelson pizzeria and café restaurant seeks experienced Café Worker for full time role. Must have knowledge of Italian cuisine, be passionate about great customer experiences. You will need to have a minimum of 2 years of experience in working at a restaurant or café, including at least 12 months of solid experience as a barista with excellent coffee-making skills and outstanding customer service.

The role is full-time, minimum 30 hours. Business is open 7 days, between 4:30 pm and 10:30 pm.

Must be available to work on rostered shifts, including Friday – Sunday shifts on regular basis.

Responsibilities

Ensuring that the standard and quality of the food service, customer service and hygiene within are maintained to a high standard at all times. In this role, you will be facing the customers and at times assisting in the kitchen as needed. This role is very hands-on, requiring pace of work, attention to detail and a great can-do positive attitude. We make an average of 200 quality pizzas per day, whic requires dedication, focus and teamwork.

Minimum requirements

• 2 year of experience in restaurant or café work required; 3+ years preferred.

• Minimum 12 months of solid work experience as a barista required; trained barista with 2+ years of years experience preferred but not required.

• Must have knowledge of Italian cuisine and should be able to understand the preparation of key dishes and explain the dishes to customers

• Must have great customer service and be excellent with people, able to work in a busy team environment

Additional Skills and Qualifications Preferred (but not required)

Ideal candidates will;

• have knowledge of New Zealand food safety procedures and certification in food safety

• have qualifications in food preparation and/or barista work

• have a duty managers license or be able and willing to get one if needed

• be able to clean regularly to maintain or exceed industry standards for kitchen and restaurant hygiene
