Nauhria Reinforcing Ltd is a leading supplier of reinforcing steel and mesh via its fabrication service for concrete foundations and structures. Nauhria Reinforcing Ltd services the commercial, civil, and residential construction sectors.

We are looking to employ a suitable experienced reinforcing steel detailer, to join our team. The candidate we looking for should be able to hit the ground running.

Qualifications - A degree in Civil Engineering or 5 years of relevant work experience.

Job Description

  • There is a clear understanding of the project's scope of work, quantities, values, and customer expectations.
  • Produce detailing sheets on time that are to a standard – clear, concise, accurate, and completed using both the NZ Standard and Company standard practices.
  • Liaise with the Detailing Manager on the approval/markup process of drawing and ensure all drawings are updated correctly.
  • Highlights changes between drawings used for initial estimates and final construction drawings.
  • Advise the detailing manager of variances to contracts.
  • Provides direction on software use and optimization, and overview and implement process improvement.
  • Maintains proper contract documentation and reports.
  • Ensure daily electronic filing of all correspondence
  • Bar schedules are clear, concise, and completed using both the NZ Standard and Company standard practices.
  • Detail sheets are issued for manufacture, on time, that are accurate and meet the client, company, and NZ Standards.
  • Ensure weekly that detailing output be a minimum of 30-40T
  • Ensure a saving on supplies that are jobs to be completed within 95% of the estimate
  • If requested, willing to work extended hours (to support the larger NREO Team and the client)
  • Regular site visits as required by the clients or requested by the Contracts Manager or Head Detailer.
  • DIFOTIS (Detailing in Full, On time, In Spec) to be no less than 98%.
  • All detail sheets issued to production are correctly checked and verified.
  • Clearly identified drawing changes before the contract begins, or, at a minimum, in its early stages.
  • Clearly identified reasons for VOs.

Planning, Project & Workflow Management

  • In conjunction with the production team, reviews both client’s delivery dates and production planning requirements of the project to advise and agree to a detailing program that suits all stakeholders.
  • Actively oversee the detailing and steel fixing programs, ensuring programs are adhered to throughout the process.
  • Immediately advise to all parties of any changes to the detailing program for any reason.
  • Delivery dates are well thought through, realistic, and well communicated to all parties.
  • Detailing is completed on time and in specifications.
  • All and any issues are clearly communicated and in advance notice.

Contract Administration


  • Have a clear understanding of the projects, scope of work, quantities, values, and customer expectations.
  • Continually reviews contract quantities and advice & assist in any anomalies.
  • Identifies and quantifies all variations that appear on a project whilst drafting using the companies’ variations policy/procedures.
  • Show a good understanding of project requirements.
  • Reviews are completed regularly with anomalies advised immediately.
  • Variations are fully identified on time and clear information is provided.

Communications


  • Whilst the project is being detailed is responsible for and maintains sound relationships and contacts with the relevant customers/ contracts/site foreman /Steel fixers who are dealing with that project.
  • Ensure any inquiries from all parties (external and internal) are replied to promptly.
  • Ensure all correspondences are completed and or confirmed via email and retained for future reference.
  • Maintaining a sound relationship and contact with the regular parties dealing with various projects.
  • Ensure any inquiries from all parties – external and internal, are replied to promptly.
  • Ensures all correspondence is completed and/or confirmed in writing via email and retain for future reference.
  • Positive customer and/or consultant feedback & no customer complaints regarding service.
  • Increase the number of loyal customers.
  • All enquiries are dealt with in a proper, professional manner.
