The opportunity
We’re looking for a dynamic and digitally savvy communications generalist who’s ready to step into a broad and exciting role. As our Communications Advisor, alongside the Manager - Strategic Communications, you’ll support the delivery of clear, consistent, and high-impact messaging that tells the story of our Airport and builds understanding of our vision, values and strategic priorities.
From crafting media releases and social content to coordinating internal campaigns and supporting media engagement, this is a role where no two days are the same. You'll work closely with stakeholders across the business and contribute to projects that matter. If you're confident working with the media, experienced in both internal and external communications, and enjoy rolling up your sleeves to deliver smart, strategic comms, we would love to hear from you.

The opportunity
We’re looking for a dynamic and digitally savvy communications generalist who’s ready to step into a broad and exciting role. As our Communications Advisor, alongside the Manager - Strategic Communications, you’ll support the delivery of clear, consistent, and high-impact messaging that tells the story of our Airport and builds understanding of our vision, values and strategic priorities.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Developing and executing communications plans across channels for projects and initiatives
- Writing and editing engaging content for media, internal updates, social media, newsletters, web and more
- Supporting media relations including proactive and reactive media engagement and briefing spokespeople
- Coordinating communications materials such as presentations, speeches, and media kits
- Collaborating with teams across the airport to support internal comms, events, and culture initiatives
- Bringing fresh thinking to how we tell our stories - visually, digitally, and with impact
- Supporting emergency communications planning and response and being available to be on an emergency call out roster
- Working closely with our marketing team
- A tertiary qualification in communications, journalism, PR or a related field
- At least 3 years’ experience in communications, media, or PR – ideally across both internal and external comms
- A good understanding of Aotearoa’s media environment and strong relationships with media outlets
- Excellent writing skills and a flair for creating content that resonates
- Confidence using digital tools and platforms (bonus if you’ve got experience in video content)
- A calm and professional manner when working under pressure
- An understanding of how to tailor messages to different audiences and situations
- A collaborative mindset, with strong planning and organisational skills
