The CIAL marketing team is looking for a collaborative and creative graphic designer to play an active role in shaping our upbeat culture, be curious about our customers, and who is passionate about championing CIAL and the incredible destinations we are the gateway to.
You’ll be the go-to creative resource for a wide range of design needs—from internal documents and presentations to digital media, signage, and impactful branded experiences.
You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, managing priorities and balancing quality with efficiency. Not every task needs to be pixel-perfect—but when it does, you’ll know how to deliver.
You’ll also play a key role in continuously improving how we work by identifying opportunities to create templates and self-service design tools that empower teams to confidently handle selected design tasks on their own.

What You’ll Do
- Design and deliver a broad range of creative assets that are fit for purpose and the customer, while maintaining brand consistency and impact. From presentations shared at aviation conferences, wayfinding and signage used in the terminal, to designing new airbridges that welcome and inspire passengers, you’ll work on a range of projects, so variety and opportunity for impact is a given.
- Champion the voice of the customer and make recommendations to ensure this is reflected in creative.
- Collaborate with your marketing peers, other business units, and external agencies or suppliers.
- Manage competing priorities and right size projects, keeping stakeholders informed along the way.
- Identify and create design tools and processes that empower business units to self-service with selected design needs.
- Contribute to ongoing marketing initiatives focused on improving how customers experience Christchurch International Airport and inspire them about all the destinations we are a gateway to.

- You can juggle multiple briefs, working with diverse stakeholders, and prioritising effectively to keep projects on track.
- You are proactive, when you see opportunities and share them.
- A proactive and collaborative mindset, eager to contribute to continuous improvement.
- 2+ years of experience in a graphic design role, with an intermediate understanding of design principles.
- Confident across Adobe Creative Suite – especially InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Proven ability to effectively design for multiple platforms: print, digital, signage, and internal communications.
- Sharp eye for detail with the ability to balance quality with efficiency.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders and managing competing demands.
- Experience setting up empowerment tools to allow others to self-service.
- Are curious and open to new design trends, tools and techniques.
