Family Works Northern is a champion for children, providing professional counselling and social work in communities and schools and delivering 1-1 interventions and programmes that bring about lasting change.
Our Tauranga based service is seeking a part-time talented and experienced Social Worker to join their team for 3 months. This exciting role will see you engage with children and their families and work with them towards achieving positive and lasting differences in their lives.
This role is a 3-month fixed term contract working 32 hours per week ideally Monday to Thursday (negotiable for the right applicant). Salary is aligned with pay equity settlement.

- A qualified and experienced Social Worker
- Must be fully registered with the SWRB
- Apply Te Tiriti based practice principles when working with whānau Māori
- Familiar with strength-based practice principles
- Competent in working with families affected by multiple issues including family violence and child abuse
- A person who thrives in a busy multi-disciplinary team
- Enjoy group facilitation
- Show exemplary professional practice
- Have outstanding communication and people skills
- Have excellent assessment, engagement and time management skills
- Full drivers licence required
