Kitchen Assistant

Support the Chefs – Assist with food prep, dishwashing, and keeping the kitchen humming.
Keep it Clean – Maintain a spotless, safe workspace and handle equipment with care.

Catering Assistant

Frontline Flair – Deliver top-notch service, help with events and drop-offs, and set up beautiful tables.
All-Round Helper – From clearing plates to keeping the buffet fresh, you're there where it counts.

Who We’re Looking For

Whether you're experienced or looking to build your skills, we’re after team players who:

• Are reliable, practical, and ready to pitch in
• Have a passion for food and great service
• Keep things clean, organised, and safe
• Communicate well and bring a positive attitude
• Hold (or are working toward) hospitality qualifications
• Hold a full, clean NZ Driver’s Licence (Catering Assistant)
• Can work flexible hours and handle the heat of busy service

Welcome to The University of Canterbury Students’ Association (UCSA)

Established in 1894, the UCSA is a registered not-for-profit organisation that supports UC students to succeed and belong.

Our organisation is governed by an elected Student Executive, and we employ over 300 staff. Together, we dish up a range of student-focused services, including advocacy and welfare, representation, subsidised dental and optometry, early learning centres, club support, events, and media.

The UCSA commercial team manages several cafes and bars, as well as sizeable catering and events teams delivering services to students, staff, external customers and commercial partners.
