Join our busy Japanese restaurant as a Restaurant Supervisor! You will oversee daily front-of-house operations, lead and train staff, and ensure excellent customer service. We are looking for someone with at least 1 year experience of restaurant experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of Japanese cuisine is a plus but not required.

Restaurant Supervisor – Auckland

We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Restaurant Supervisor to join our busy Japanese restaurant in Auckland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily front-of-house operations to ensure smooth, efficient service.

  • Lead, train, and motivate front-of-house staff to deliver excellent customer experiences.

  • Oversee reservations, table management, and seating to maximize service flow.

  • Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally.

  • Ensure the dining area is clean, well-presented, and set up for service.

  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders.

  • Assist with staff rostering and scheduling to align with business needs.

  • Monitor stock levels of front-of-house supplies and assist with ordering.

  • Manage POS systems, handle cash, and ensure accurate end-of-day reconciliation.

  • Support restaurant promotions and marketing activities, including special events.

About the Role:

  • Location: Auckland

  • Job type: Full-time, permanent

  • Position available: 1

  • Days required: 5 days/week (must be available weekends)

  • Hours: Minimum 30, up to 55 hours per week

About You:

  • At least 12 months of experience in a front-of-house or restaurant role.

  • Strong leadership, team management, and customer service skills.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

  • Experience with reservations, POS systems, and cash handling.

  • Knowledge of Japanese cuisine and culture is an advantage but not required.

  • Must be reliable, well-presented, and a positive team player.
