Te Tūranga i The Role

We’re looking for an IBMS Technical Specialist / Software Engineer to join our team and play a key role in supporting, optimising and evolving our content systems. This hybrid role sits at the intersection of software engineering and operational excellence, supporting the end-to-end functionality of our IBMS (Integrated Broadcast Management System) platform – a critical system used to manage content rights, financials, workflows, and distribution.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technically skilled and solutions-oriented professional who thrives in both a development environment and in supporting business users to get the most out of complex systems. You'll help enhance our project delivery capacity, reduce operational risk, and provide exceptional support to the teams who rely on IBMS every day.

Key Responsibilities Will Include

  • Providing application and operational support for IBMS, including workflow optimisation and user training.
  • Investigating and resolving incidents and issues, ensuring timely recovery and continuous service improvement.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across the business to support their use of IBMS and connected systems.
  • Designing and delivering enhancements that improve business performance, reduce complexity, and increase automation.
  • Contributing to an integrated training strategy and maintaining up-to-date support documentation.

NGĀ PŪKENGA ME NGĀ WHEAKO I WHAT YOU WILL BRING: 

You’ll bring a unique combination of software engineering skills and hands-on knowledge of broadcast/content management systems, ideally IBMS. You enjoy working in a collaborative team, thrive in a complex, fast-paced environment, and are committed to delivering tools and support that help the wider organisation succeed.

Essential

  • Proven experience in supporting and maintaining enterprise applications, ideally in a media or broadcast environment.
  • Hands-on experience with IBMS (or similar broadcast/content management systems).
  • Strong problem-solving and incident management skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Experience in software development and scripting – able to design and implement enhancements and integrations.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills – able to translate technical information into clear, actionable support for end users.
  • Comfortable developing operational training material and leading user training sessions.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in the media, content, or broadcasting industries.
  • Knowledge of system architecture and integration patterns relevant to content workflows.
  • Familiarity with ITIL-based service management practices.
  • Exposure to licensing, metadata, scheduling, or content distribution systems.
  • Understanding of application security, backup, and disaster recovery best practices.
