Production Technician

We are looking for experienced production technician to join our team based in Wellington

This is a permanent full-time role, with 40-45 hours per week.

This role will involve the manufacturing and general care of Horizon International’s domestic paving products including but not limited to the Terrazzo Veneto, Pastelli and Tuff Stuff range for the New Zealand/Australasian market. The purpose of this role is:

• To actively produce and assist the production of all Terrazzo Veneto, Pastelli and Tuff Stuff range of pavers.

• To develop a strong working knowledge of all operational machinery, use and management of raw materials, handling of all finished product, freight preparation, and any and all other related activities and tasks to best manage the productivity of Horizon International’s business.

• To develop a strong knowledge of all products, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) of the Terrazzo Veneto, Pastelli and Tuff Stuff range of pavers.

• To develop a strong working rapport with all staff members, management, suppliers and service providers.

• To manage and foster the success of the Terrazzo Veneto brand, its sister brands and Horizon International’s Brand Development Program (BDP) as directed by the Managing Director and associated management.

• Operate a range a machines to process and manufacture pavers

o Honing machine, Bullnose machine, Cutting machine, Green Press, hydraulic press, batch mixing, shot blast machine,

• Calculating ratios of different concrete aggregates

• Adjustment of machines, settling the two inline machines to cut the correct heights to a precision +/- 1mm

• Setting and re-setting machines to the paver height, bullnose profile

• Control settings and adjustments, ensuring quality control of pavers with regards to cutting size, thickness and speed

• Control of bin and mixing operations and raw material dosing

• Selecting /entering the correct mix profile for the pavers being made

• Startup sequence, loading. Unloading, the press strength and dwell time for optimum paver making

• Mixing and pouring the "wet pour" range of concrete pavers. Operating mechanical concrete drop saws.

• Loading + monitoring amount of machine grinding of pavers

• Manual loading of raw material into machinery bins

• Forklift operation (we organize ticketing if required.)

• Concrete manufacturing via poured mould production which does not involve machinery.

• Stocktake counting

• Organisation of products in the warehouse

• Gathering products for orders, palletising, packaging, labelling

• Maintaining cleanliness standards of machine mats and moulds to prevent contamination of finished pavers

• General factory duties including clean up

You need to demonstrate at least 2 years relevant experience, plus: Experience and skills in operating large machinery Able to work amongst cement and handle cement based products Team player Able to do some heavy lifting of products A respectful individual withi integrity and sound work ethic
