Tailor Assistant

BRAR FASHION BOUTIQUE LIMITED, Auckland is looking for Tailor Assistant, Full time role 35-40 hours per week.

As an Tailor Assistant you will supports the head tailor or master tailor in executing sewing, alterations, fitting, and garment preparation tasks. This role ensures high-quality tailoring services while maintaining a clean and organised work environment, contributing to customer satisfaction and the overall efficiency of the tailoring unit.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in basic garment alterations such as hemming, stitching, and resizing
• Support head tailor with measuring, cutting, and fitting tasks
• Operate sewing machines and handle hand-stitching as needed
• Perform garment finishing tasks like pressing and packaging
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the tailoring workspace
• Help manage tailoring supplies and tools inventory
• Follow instructions accurately and support timely completion of orders

Skills and Qualifications:

• • Basic knowledge of garment construction and sewing techniques
  • Familiarity with sewing machines and tailoring tools
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
  • Strong time management and task prioritisation skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Previous tailoring or alteration experience (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Experience in stitching traditional Indian garments (e.g., salwar suits, saree blouses, lehengas) will be considered an added advantage
