Power & Energy – Renewable Energy Lead
The Renewable Energy Lead provides strategic and operational leadership to the Renewable Energy sub-sector in WSP to achieve exceptional outcomes for our clients and our stakeholders, maximising commercial and project outcomes.
Reporting to the Director of Power & Energy, you will establish, implement, and deliver on growth and capability plans. This is an opportunity to establish and foster global WSP connections leveraging world-wide expertise for the New Zealand market.
We are looking for an industry leader who can drive local client engagement, grow business development, and champion technical excellence, in addition to contributing to and helping to shape national strategy for the growth of the New Zealand generation market.
You’ll be an existing or emerging leader, and a role model for delivery of complex projects in the power and energy sector. This is a hands-on leadership role in an exciting growth area and would suit a programme director who enjoys technical delivery and client contact.

About You
- Minimum 10 years professional experience as a project manager, CRM or in programme delivery
- Relevant qualification and experience in renewable energy project development
- 7+ years’ experience as advisory consultant in wind, solar or battery energy storage
- People leadership – will lead teams of professionals engaged in all stages of project development
- Good interpersonal skills and professional brand to bring in business
- Successful business development track record including leading key pursuits
- Technical report writing to high standard
- Enjoy both hands on delivery and working towards the sector strategic goals
- Able to travel around NZ for projects or to meet with clients
