Job Description
Te Tūranga | About the role:
Based within our Sales and Operations Planning team, the Assistant Livestock Allocation Scheduler plays a crucial supporting role in ensuring we deliver accurate and timely livestock bookings across our national network.
Reporting to the Senior Livestock Allocation Scheduler, you’ll learn how to allocate livestock space in line with production needs, animal welfare standards, and regional priorities. You’ll work closely with Livestock Representatives, Transport Operators, and internal stakeholders across sites to ensure seamless delivery planning, while also helping to resolve booking issues and improve our scheduling processes.
This hands-on role offers the chance to build your knowledge across species and regional dynamics, while actively contributing to the weekly planning and booking cycles. You’ll be asked to assist with after-hours and weekend scheduling work, and some travel may be required.
This role has a North Island focus, so we are ideally looking for someone who is based at one of our North Island locations: Dargaville, Auckland, Te Aroha, Rotorua, Hastings, Takapau, Hāwera, or Waitotara. The current team is split between the Hawkes Bay and Taranaki regions.
Key Responsibilities Include
We’re looking for someone who’s curious, organised, and keen to grow within the livestock supply chain. You might have experience in agricultural logistics, scheduling, or farming operations, or simply a passion for livestock and an eagerness to learn.

- Support weekly planning and space allocations across the region in line with capacity and priority guidance
- Liaise with Regional Livestock Managers and Representatives to communicate bookings
- Help publish allocations and action livestock transfers where required
- Optimise delivery schedules and transport loads to support efficient site operations
- Ensure compliance with livestock transport, programme, and documentation requirements
- Maintain and generate allocation and booking reports
- Participate in team initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement

You’ll Also Bring
- Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with internal and external stakeholders
- A detail-oriented, accurate, and proactive approach to coordination
- Understanding of livestock operations, transport requirements, and scheduling cycles
- Computer literacy (including Excel and systems navigation skills)
- Flexibility to support after-hours work when required
- A continuous improvement mindset and collaborative spirit
