The NZ Certificate in Youth Work – Level 5 programme is designed to equip graduates with the skills, knowledge, ethical standards, and professional attitudes necessary to support and empower vulnerable youth across New Zealand. This qualification is intended for people to enhance their skills, knowledge, and practice as a Youth Worker.
You will play a key role in preparing the future youth workforce by delivering high-quality teaching, providing placement supervision, and ensuring learners are equipped for real-world youth work environments.
This is a full-time permanent position and is delivered online and on-site.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that align with the NZSE College Teaching and Learning Plan and the NZQA framework, using a variety of delivery methods (Face-to-Face, Online, and Blended Learning)
- Provide academic support to students, including assessment, marking, feedback, and moderation
- Visit and supervise students during their work placements
- Maintain compliance with academic, assessment, and programme moderation standards
- Contribute to continuous improvement of course content and student outcomes
- Build and maintain relationships with youth sector stakeholders, high schools and community organisations
- A genuine passion for youth development and the wellbeing of young people in Aotearoa
- Apply knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Mana Taiohi, Code of Ethics for Youth Work, brain development and human development frameworks and legislative requirements
- Tertiary qualified at level 6 or above
- Experience with assessment design and moderation / marking
- New Zealand Certificate in Adult Teaching Level 5 or willingness to work towards
- Experience in teaching, mentoring, or facilitating adult learners
- A current full NZ driver licence (required for placement visits)
