Join a leading Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine department serving one of New Zealand's most diverse and dynamic populations.

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Consultant Anaesthetist to join a high-performing, friendly team delivering anaesthetic services across a wide range of surgical specialties. Based in Auckland, you'll be working in a region known for its strong sense of community, cultural diversity, and commitment to equitable healthcare outcomes.

Serving a population of around 600,000, our anaesthetic department provides approximately 32,000 anaesthetic episodes annually. You'll be exposed to a wide scope of practice.

Active in research and clinical education, with weekly M&M meetings, CME activities, and participation in the ANZCA Clinical Trials Network.

What You'll Bring:

  • Fellowship of ANZCA or an equivalent specialist qualification
  • Eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
  • A broad, generalist skillset with subspecialty interests welcomed
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-first mindset
  • Kindness, professionalism, and a commitment to continuous learning
  • Willingness to contribute to department initiatives, education, and service development
