We’re on the hunt for a savvy and strategic Programmatic Manager to take the reins of our programmatic advertising channel at NZME. Based in Auckland, this is your opportunity to lead the charge at Aotearoa’s leading media company – delivering smart solutions, optimising performance, and driving impact in a constantly evolving digital landscape. You’ll lead from the front, working with agency partners, internal teams, and premium platforms to ensure NZME delivers market-leading programmatic results – every time.

You’ll lead from the front, working with agency partners, internal teams, and premium platforms to ensure NZME delivers market-leading programmatic results – every time.
How You’ll Do It
You’ll be the programmatic lead across NZME’s commercial portfolio, with a focus on growth, innovation and performance. Your day-to-day will include:
- Managing and growing all programmatic deal types (PMP, PD, PG) with agencies and clients.
- Monitoring campaign health and bid activity, implementing pricing strategies to optimise yield.
- Partnering with Sales Leads to craft smart, programmatically led solutions for our clients.
- Driving the commercialisation of first-party data and new media opportunities like retail and performance packages.
- Working closely with AdOps, Product, and Data teams to deliver seamless, high-performing campaigns.
- Enabling internal teams with reporting, insights, training and tools to make programmatic easy to understand and sell.
- Keeping your finger on the pulse of market trends and feeding new ideas and innovations into the business.
You’re a programmatic powerhouse with 5+ years of experience and a clear understanding of how platforms, data and strategy intersect. You’re proactive, analytical and commercially minded, with the ability to build strong relationships across stakeholders.
Here’s What You Bring
- A strong understanding of the programmatic ecosystem (DSPs, SSPs, ad servers, and data platforms).
- Experience across platforms like Google Ad Manager, DV360, Magnite and Index Exchange.
- Proven success in managing high-value clients and delivering revenue growth through strategic programmatic execution.
- Confident in using data to analyse performance, forecast results and guide commercial decisions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills – you can explain complex things in simple ways.
- A solutions-focused mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
