We're on a mission to transform and modernise our digital capabilities. In this role you will join Kiwibank’s Digital and Technology team, more specifically the Hybrid Infrastructure and Observability team, which is part of our 'Platforms’ Hub.

The Platforms Hub provides Kiwibank’s engineering teams with safe and sustainable technology platforms to build on top of, enabling them to create great outcomes for our customers.

Day to day this could include:

  • Clearly communicating the 'why' of prioritised work, and how this will achieve measurable progress towards objectives
  • Translating feature requirements into platform offerings
  • Maintaining a high-quality backlog, working with product management to develop and define roadmaps, & defining metrics to support decision making
  • Facilitating agile ceremonies that produce solid deliverables and outcomes
  • Clearing roadblocks to success, and celebrating the successes
  • Developing enduring relationships with stakeholders deepening everyone’s understanding of needs in both directions
  • Building solid rapport with your squad including a comprehensive understanding of their skill set and remit
  • Providing transparent reporting on progress and knowing when to escalate effectively

Key skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Ability to think long term and near term at a detailed level to cope with business and technology complexity
  • Ability to communicate with engineers and architects to allow for effective creation of feature delivery and associated success criteria
  • Ability to think on your feet and react in a fast-paced and evolving environment
  • Strong stakeholder management at all levels of the Digital and Technology team
  • Solid understanding and experience working in agile environment
  • Experience in leading and facilitating technology teams across infrastructure product offerings and/or experience with value aligned streams such as Platform/Network Engineering and Infrastructure as Code would be beneficial
