About The Role
We're looking for a passionate and reliable Chef to join our outdoor kitchen team. You'll be preparing fresh, seasonal menu items—especially wood-fired pizzas—for our manuhiri (visitors), while contributing to a warm, welcoming experience that reflects Ngāi Tahu values and manaakitanga.
You'll work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen crew to deliver high-quality food in a relaxed, country-style setting.

Reporting To The Head Chef, Your Responsibilities Include
- Preparing pizzas and other menu items using fresh, seasonal ingredients
- Supporting food service for high-end guests in a relaxed, outdoor environment
- Maintaining food safety and hygiene standards
- Contributing to our sustainability goals (carbon zero by 2040)
- Embracing Ngāi Tahu values and cultural learning opportunities
- Living wage + KiwiSaver
- Regular work hours across a 7-day roster - shifts generally run between 8am - 4.30pm
- Occasional evening functions - especially during summer (up to 9.00pm finish)
- Uniform provided
- On-the-job training and cultural development

- 1+ years of kitchen experience (pizza-making experience a bonus!)
- A team player with a positive, can-do attitude
- Passion for hospitality and guest care (manaakitanga)
- Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays
- Cookery qualification (Level 3 or higher) and recent food safety training are a plus
