The Business

Strettons was established in 1954 and over time has transitioned into the modern, progressive chartered accountancy firm that stands proud now. They are seeking a capable and client-focused Commercial Accounting Advisor to join their dynamic team based in Taupō. This exciting opportunity involves working with a major commercial client across the energy and agriculture sectors. You'll join a well-established accounting team and be one of three professionals delivering high-quality, end-to-end accounting services.

What You Will Do

• Manage monthly accounting processes including reconciliations, journals, and internal reviews.
• Prepare and maintain financial statements, compliance returns (GST, FBT, income tax), and reporting packs.
• Develop budgets and cashflows in collaboration with internal teams and the client.
• Deliver insightful financial analysis and reports to support strategic decision-making.
• Contribute to business development through robust financial input.
• Maintain accurate fixed asset registers and ensure streamlined accounting procedures.
• Foster strong working relationships with both client and internal stakeholders.

What You’ll Bring

• A tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, or related field (Accounting major preferred).
• Strong technical accounting skills and sound understanding of commercial operations.
• Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and tax compliance.
• Excellent communication skills with a client-service mindset.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to work autonomously and within a team.
• Experience in a CA firm and/or commercial environment is advantageous.
• Knowledge of the energy and agriculture sectors and familiarity with TechOne is a plus.
