Our Mahi (work) Centres On Delivering Three Core Services
We are looking for a Culture & Inclusion Partner to lead initiatives that foster an inclusive, high-performing organisational culture where everyone feels valued and empowered. Reporting to the General Manager – Talent, Capability & Culture, you will work closely with leaders, teams, and employee networks to design and embed culture and inclusion strategies that align with our values and support wellbeing and engagement.
Your role will be key to shaping the workplace environment and experience, partnering with the Diversity, Inclusion and Governance Group (DIGG) and other groups to ensure our culture reflects our commitment to equity, diversity, and belonging. You will lead efforts to remove barriers and embed inclusive behaviours, helping Environment Canterbury be a great place to work for all kaimahi.

You are a credible and confident culture and inclusion professional, ideally with lived experience in diversity, equity, inclusion, or related areas. You bring a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities that diverse people face and know how to translate that insight into practical, effective initiatives.You excel at partnering with leaders and teams to foster belonging and engagement, and you’re passionate about creating workplaces where all people can thrive.

- Proven experience leading organisational culture and inclusion initiatives in complex environments
- Lived experience in diversity, equity, inclusion, or social justice, or a strong commitment to these principles
- Skilled at building strong relationships and influencing leaders at all levels
- Experience working with employee networks and embedding inclusion across policies and practices
- Solid understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles
- Public sector experience and knowledge of Treaty partnership is advantageous
