We're looking for a highly skilled and driven Product Owner to join our Financial Crime Platform team at ASB, with responsibility for our Sanctions products. This role is key to driving the product roadmap, ensuring that squads and stakeholders are aligned to deliver high-quality business outcomes. You'll play a strategic role in creating and prioritising roadmaps, managing backlogs, and delivering business value through iterative, customer-centric development. Mo te tūranga | About the Role:
- Leading the creation of strategic product roadmaps, aligning IT, financial and business goals.
- Prioritising features and capabilities that deliver tangible customer and business outcomes.
- Engaging cross-functional squads to ensure delivery excellence and continuous improvement.
- Owning the vision and direction across platform teams to ensure rapid iteration and quality delivery.
- Managing outages and incident recovery efforts, driving resolution and remediation.
- Translate complex business needs into clear technical direction for engineering squads.
- Working closely with stakeholders to track availability, manage risks, and ensure compliance.
- Drive innovation and manage delivery risks while ensuring all timelines and outcomes are met.
- Supporting teams through active involvement in customer research, backlog grooming, sprint planning and release planning.
- Deliver continuous improvement of services and customer experience.
- Proven experience engaging stakeholders to understand and deliver business outcomes in complex environments.
- Strong analysis, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills - able to present clear and compelling messages.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in technology delivery across multiple environments.
- Financial Crime, AML, Fraud, Sanctions, Financial services or banking experience preferred.
- Solid understanding of IT systems, software lifecycle, risk frameworks (CAPs, Risk, Licencing, etc.).
- Strong negotiation, consensus building, and the ability to influence across teams and leadership.
- Experience working in Agile and cross-functional delivery models.
