Cook Wanted – Join Our Boarding School Kitchen Team!
Term-Time Only | 7am–2pm Mon–Thurs + One Weekend Shift/Month | 25 - 30 hours per week | Winchester, South Canterbury location

Are you passionate about creating food that brings smiles to young faces? Do you love variety in the kitchen and thrive in a supportive team environment?

We're on the lookout for a creative, adaptable Cook to join the Waihi School community, helping to feed hungry school children, plus hardworking teachers and support staff. From hearty breakfasts to wholesome lunches and dinners, you'll play a key role in making mealtimes something everyone looks forward to.

About the role:

• Term-time only – enjoy school holidays off!
• 7am–2pm, Monday to Thursday
• One weekend shift each month
• Prepare nutritious, child-friendly meals that also satisfy adult appetites
• Be part of a close-knit, collaborative team that all pitch in when needed
• Bring your creativity – we're not just serving food, we're creating moments

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has experience in a commercial kitchen / with bulk cooking (ideal)
• Understands food safety and hygiene practices
• Loves working with children and knows what food they love
• Is organised, adaptable, and ready to jump in wherever needed
• Brings a positive attitude and team spirit every day
