Position Purpose: To provide undergraduate and postgraduate teaching along with a
research programme including higher degree supervision in the discipline
area of Computer Science. Teaching includes both online and face-to-face
teaching at the Massey Auckland campus in Albany. Applying for, and
securing, external research finding is an important component.

About this area Massey University’s School of Mathematical & Computational Sciences
leads teaching and research in computer science, information technology,
data science, mathematics and statistics on both the Albany (Auckland) and
the Palmerston North campuses. The school teaches a number of service
courses across a wide range of disciplines.

Accountabilities
Teaching and • Prepare and present lectures, tutorials and other classes for
Administration undergraduate and postgraduate students in programmes offered, or
contributed to, by the School of Mathematical & Computational
Sciences.
- Develop curricula for courses in CSIT as required and directed by the
required.
- Utilise, introduce and develop modern teaching methods, including
students’ learning experiences and outcomes.
- Assist in supervising the professional projects or research activities of
- Collaborate with staff in other academic units to ensure that CSIT service
Research • Undertake an active, appropriate and viable personal research
programme and/or participate in team-based research.
- Collaborate with Massey researchers working in other subject areas.
- Publish papers and other scholarly works in academic journals and books
- Present research at national and international meetings and act as a
- Seek both internal and external funding for research.
Service to the
Community • Participate in community service activities that further advance the
profession or field and which are consistent with the University’s Charter
and Strategic Plan

Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications: A relevant PhD and demonstrated teaching and research practice
Experience:- Strong Computer Science and programming background.
- Previous experience with delivering courses at university level.
- Experience in research and publication of scholarly articles.
