About The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a self-motivated individual with strong background in Financial Accounting to join our Finance team here at AA Insurance.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering monthly business results, including journal preparation and reconciliations, preparation and filing of various levy returns, compliance reporting and supporting the team. This role requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
The successful candidate will also be supporting year-end audits and the preparation of financial statements. You will also provide accurate and timely information to the wider business. You'll be part of a dedicated team focused on supporting the delivery of the company purpose of "We care, we help, and we get things sorted".
We are looking for someone who has the ability to work autonomously, brings a strong investigative mindset to reconciliation, resilient approach to a fast-paced environment, and a strong eye for detail.

What you will be doing?
- Performing month-end journals and reconciliations accurately and on a timely basis.
- Assisting the team to achieve accurate, complete, and timely reporting of financial results for the business.
- Preparing and filing of levies returns, regulatory returns and statistical returns.
- Managing the reinsurance accounting.
- Assisting with statutory financial statements preparation and external audit deliverables.
- Managing the assets/lease registers.
- Ensuring accuracy of other financial reconciliations as requested.
- Completing ad hoc/project deliverables.
- Minimum four years' experience working in an Accounting firm or in an Accounting role in a corporate environment.
- Tertiary qualified in a finance-related degree, or working towards an Accounting certification.
- Previous experience with balance sheet reconciliations, external compliance returns/reporting, managing assets/leases registers, and financial statement preparation and audit deliverables.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong attention to detail skills.
- Clear communication skills with a focus on commercial outcomes.
- Problem solving attitude and true team player - a 'can do' attitude is key.
- Be a self-starter and self-motivated.
- An eye and willingness to drive process improvement.
