Job Description

Ampol’s Delivery team acts as strategic enabler to our transformation and our operating model, ensuring we responsibly invest in the right priorities to maximise value, consistently deliver impactful outcomes and align Tech, Digital & Data (TDD) to Ampol Group’s strategic goals and outcomes.

The Portfolio Reporting Manager will increase portfolio visibility, decision accuracy, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and operational efficiency across TDD. Through more accessible data and information, streamlined reporting processes, and faster access to reliable insights into portfolio health and performance this role will play a pivotal role to enhance visibility and success of the TDD portfolio.

You will have the opportunity to

  • Lead the design and execution of the end-to-end reporting calendar and cadence to ensure alignment across all governance levels and implement TDD reporting and measurement frameworks to enable accurate data collection, insightful analysis, and effective tracking of progress, outcomes, and benefits realisation.
  • Design and evolve dashboards, metrics, and performance reporting using modern data visualisation, automation, and data modelling techniques to clearly communicate trends, risks, and value and improve portfolio transparency, confidence, and decision-making.
  • Develop impactful reporting packs, visual narratives, and insights tailored to diverse audiences to increase stakeholder engagement and improve alignment, understanding, and portfolio transparency.
  • Champion and leverage best practices in data storytelling, visual design, and information visualisation to maximise clarity, value, and impact.
  • Lead and uplift reporting capability across the team, mentoring analysts, improving reporting processes, and ensuring high data quality across systems and inputs.

Qualifications

What you’ll bring to Z

  • Experience in portfolio performance tracking, structured reporting, and data visualisation with a strong ability to deliver meaningful and actionable insights that inform decision-making, investments, and prioritisation.
  • Skilled in defining measurement strategies and applying contemporary measurement frameworks and planning to evolve how portfolio performance, outcomes, risks, and trends are monitored, interpreted, and communicated.
  • Ability to tailor insights and reporting for diverse audiences - from Board and executives to delivery teams - to ensure clarity, relevance, and high impact.
  • Deep expertise in maintaining data quality and integrity across portfolio systems, adopting best practices, and driving improvement in reporting tools, processes, and methodologies to uplift portfolio visibility and reporting maturity.
  • Proficiency in leveraging modern visualisation platforms and tools (e.g. Power BI and PowerPoint), data modelling, and automation to uplift reporting impact, maturity, and effectiveness.

The base salary range for this role is $170,000.00 to $195,000.00 per annum, plus 15% STI based on company performance, a 5% KiwiSaver employer contribution and health insurance through Southern Cross.
