He Angitūtanga / The Opportunity

We are looking for a full-time permanent Accounts Payable Assistant at our National Support Office in Parnell, Auckland. YOu will be responsible for processing the company’s supplier invoices within a robust controlled environment and owning the timely and accurate recording of all payables and payments within the business. This opportunity would suit someone who has experience in a medium to large organisation, processing a high volume of supplier invoices within a robust, controlled environment.

Ko o Kawenga/ Your Responsibilities

Reporting to the Accounts Manager, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Managing the End-to-end AP process, working with a high volume of invoices.
  • Timely processing of supplier invoices for approval and payment, ensuring site/supplier queries are resolved efficiently.
  • Weekly And Monthly reconciliations of statements to company records.
  • Preparation of weekly and monthly payment batches in line with Compass Group's AP calendar to minimise "out of schedule" payment runs. To be reviewed by the Accounts Manager/Financial Controller.
  • Review and maintain the trade creditors' subsidiary ledger to ensure invoices are accounted for in the correct periods.
  • Liaising with site staff to follow up on approvals, credit note requests, and supplier invoicing issues.
  • Balance sheet reconciliation for AP Liability and AP clearing accounts.
  • Inductions and continuous training of site managers and approvers of the importance of the AP function.
  • Continuous development and improvement in internal controls, systems, policies, and procedures.

He Kōrero Mōu/ About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working in a high-volume Accounts Payable role in New Zealand;
  • Demonstrates excellent understanding of business, commercial, and accounting acumen;
  • Secondary school qualification NCEA Level 1 or 2, although relevant industry experience will be considered;
  • Strong reconciliations experience;
  • Strong Experience in all MS Office programmes - In particular Excel.
