Motor Mechanic

Work Location: Auckland Region

Employment type: Full time (minimum 30 hours/per week, Monday to Saturday), Permanent role

Our pay: $28.00 per hour depending on skills and experience

We are a vehicle services company based in Auckland. We are now looking for 1 Motor Mechanic to join our supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity for the right people and will allow access into a reputable and experienced company.

Key Tasks Include:

• Use test equipment to detect and diagnose vehicle faults in parts and engines
• Dismantle and rebuild, repair or replace engines, parts or systems
• Provide services to vehicles and change lubricants (such as oil), coolants (such as radiator coolant) and filters
• Complete preventative maintenance on vehicles, such as replacing brakes
• Test driving after each service and maintain accurate records relating to clients, vehicles, parts and service history
• Ensure all important parts and potential troublesome areas are examined
• Assist WOF inspector with brake and steering system inspection

To be successful you will need to:

• Have at least two years’ relevant experience, or

• Have a relevant NZ Level 4 qualification

• Be a great team player, be able to follow instructions

• Be physically fit and willingness to work hard

• Good eye for details and an ability to solve problems practically and effectively

• Have "can-do" attitude
