He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role

Watercare Maintenance Services Networks (MSN) are looking for a motivated and experienced supervisor for our Water team based in Penrose.

As the Water Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational supervision of the field crews and contracted third party specialist resources performing maintenance works for Watercare's Network Operations team. We are seeking individuals who have proven people leadership skills to enable planning and completion of the jobs to ensure they are completed safely, on time, on budget, to quality and to the satisfaction of our clients.

Other Responsibilities Will Include

  • Ensuring safe, high quality and contractually compliant operations are reliably performed at all times.
  • To recruit and retain high performing field crew and contract personnel. To manage performance through timely and appropriate steps to address the individual performance issues.
  • You will be required to participate in the on-call roster to provide escalated incident management and to manage higher level escalations as appropriate.

The Successful Candidate Will Bring

  • Proven team leadership skills with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising and mentoring field crews or similar
  • A great work ethic, a high degree of honesty and integrity with exceptional time-management skills.
  • A strong commitment to Health and Safety and good knowledge of legislation and best practice.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral and a good level of computer literacy.
  • Current clean Class 1 NZ drivers' licence.

Previous water industry experience and knowledge of water networks is highly desirable but not essential.
