Software Tester - Science focus

The Role

We are looking for a proactive and passionate Software Tester to help us build our world leading desktop geological modelling software, Leapfrog. You will be joining a friendly, and talented team, and will have plenty of opportunities for collaboration and learning. Day-to-day you will get to work with Application Specialists, Product Managers, Researchers and Developers to define new features, find bugs, verify fixes and help drive feature development to completion. If you have experience in testing software, a keen interest in technology, science, or maths we would love to hear from you.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Work collaboratively with the wider Engineering team to deliver high quality software.
  • Work with the Software team to ensure that testability is part of new features.
  • Assist with escalated technical support.
  • Contribute to process improvement.
  • Develop a constructive internal customer relationship with other departments.
  • Advocate for quality in the team.

Technology we utilise:

  • Python.
  • Shell Scripting, PowerShell.
  • SQLite, PostgreSQL.
  • Windows, Linux.
  • Microsoft Azure.
  • Git, JIRA, Zephyr, ZenDesk, TeamCity.

This role could be a good fit for you if you have:

  • Experience in testing software.
  • Educational background, or a keen interest in technology, software, science, or maths.
  • Passion for correctness and legendary attention to detail.
  • Curiosity, and the ability to constructively identify problems.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm for learning, adaptability and a can-do attitude.
