- Service operates 24 hours, 7days a week on a rotating roster (AM/PM/Awake Shifts)

The Service | Ko Te Whare O Poutama
Poutama is an 8-bed residential facility based in West Auckland. The service employs both clinical and support workers who collaborate with the residents to help them recover from mental health and addiction issues.
Poutama was the very first service in New Zealand to operate a ‘harm reduction’ philosophy, which has brought both unparalleled success and unique challenges. Accessed through the Waitemata District Health Board Adult Mental Health Services, most people stay for no more than one year.
Role | Nga mahi
Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) involves using your clinical expertise to inspire and guide residents to achieve their recovery goals, as well as to support the rest of the team with their mahi. You will do 1:1 sessions, run groups, coach staff, liaise with external stakeholders and be part of the developing and running a therapeutic community model
You will | Nga Pukenga
- Be currently registered in either of the following fields:
- Occupational Therapy
- DAPAANZ
- Counselling
- Social Work
- Nursing
- Have experience completing clinical assessments and have a sound clinical practice.
- Have the ability to work in a team environment and from a bicultural perspective.
- Be professional and have good boundaries and ethics.
- Have experience working in the area of mental health and/or addictions (alcohol and other drugs)
- Full NZ Drivers Licence
- Valid/Current work visa, residency, or citizenship
- Have a passion for walking along side those in need, supporting on-going goals on the pathway to recovery.
