Hide and Skin Processing Machine Operator

We are currently seeking a reliable and hands-on Hide and Skin Processing Machine Operator to join our processing facility based in Hastings. This role is critical in maintaining the quality and efficiency of our hide and skin processing operations.

Overtime rates apply.

Guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor hide and skin processing equipment, including fleshing, salting, and drying machines.

• Maintain accurate production records and ensure traceability requirements are met.

• Conduct routine equipment checks, cleaning, and minor maintenance as required.

• Ensure hides and skins are processed according to quality specifications and hygiene standards.

• Ability to drive a forklift as/when required.

• Work collaboratively with production and QA teams to meet daily targets.

• Follow all Health & Safety and environmental protocols to maintain a safe working environment.

What We’re Looking For

• A minimum of two years experience operating machinery in a fellmongery, tannery, or similar environment.

• Physical fitness and ability to handle heavy lifting and manual tasks.

• A keen eye for detail and commitment to quality.

• Strong work ethic with a proactive attitude.

• Willingness to work occasional overtime.

• Forklift license required.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to undertake further on-the-job training.

• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and follow instructions clearly.
