HOSIERY TECHNICIAN

A socks manufacturing company located in Manukau City is looking for one Hosiery Technician with around one year of experience operating Knitting Machines.
You will need to help design, develop and manufacture socks while maintaining/repairing the knitting machines that produce them.

Job Purpose:
Assist in the design, Development, and manufacture of socks whilst maintain, repairing
the knitting machines that produce them.

Job Duties:
Developing new patterns and designs as required by clients and as part of a
continuous improvement policy. Programming knitting machines to produce
new and improved deigns.
Employ production planning skills to reduce the down time of machines. Making
sure the next production order is ready to go when another is finished. Ensuring
the machines are running efficiently and all stoppages are resolved as soon as
possible.
Being able to communicate effectively and efficiently with both internal and
external clients. Communicate with suppliers to get supplies before they are
required while maintaining control of spending.
Evaluate ways in which the production process can be improved and openly
communicate such ideas to management.
Completes projects by training and guiding operators.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational
workshops, reviewing professional publications.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing results as needed.
