Job Title: Engineering Lead

Short Description : Work on a variety of critical client engagements with some of Infosys largest and most successful clients in New Zealand. New Zealand citizens and PR holders are encouraged to apply. We are unable to sponsor at this time.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

Minimum Experience: 5 years

Salary Range:$105,000 to $115,000

Roles And Responsibilities

Requirements:-Understand the requirements (from the proposal/SoW or interacting with the customer or interacting with onsite customer interfacing personnel.);Where requirements are not clear raise queries and obtain clarifications from the customer directly or through client interfacing people; Analyse and Document the requirements and obtain sign off from stake holders.;Provide clarifications to the team; Define an execution approach or methodology or process IN ORDER TO document and communicate detailed requirements to the team.

Concept Design:- Ideate for concepts by conducting brain storming or by using past experience or by consulting experts etc- Evaluate feasibility of concepts- Perform studies- select few suitable concepts alternatives- present to customer with the alternatives and recommendations IN ORDER TO obtain customer approval of the concepts to progress into preliminary design or development stage.

Preliminary Design:- Understand the customer preliminary design process from the requirements and/or interacting with customer and/or interacting with customer facing personnel. Define

design processes and work flow for the team .Set up tools and systems Define design principles, Standards and guidelines, Quality checklists, Prepare and/or present customer design review material for PDR.For Simple Projects:- Review and Approve designs to present to customer IN ORDER TO complete preliminary design to the standard of customer PDR (Preliminary Design Review).

Detailed Design:- Understand the customer detailed design process from the requirements and/or interacting with customer and/or interacting with customer facing personnel.- Review detailed design requirements-Provide guidance and direction to perform detailed design activities-Prepare checklists for stage reviews of the detailed design, Prepare customer design review material(CDR)-Perform technical impact analysis due to requirement changes-Resolve technical issues raised by engineers For Simple Projects: Review and Approve the designs IN ORDER TO complete the detailed designs to the customer CDR (Critical design Review) standard and obtain customer approval for next stage.

Documentation:- For Simple and Medium complexity Projects:-Understand documentation requirements from customer by interacting with customer or by studying the supplied standards and guidelines.-Provide guidance to engineers to compile reports.-Mentor technical writing to engineers-Review and suggest improvements in documents-Help create templates s.For Simple Projects:-Provide guidance to

engineers on the industry and domain expectations.-Review content of the technical reports and Approve.IN ORDER TO deliver quality documentation to the requirements and obtain customer approval.

Testing Support:- For Simple Projects:-Understand the testing and testing support needs -Define the scope of testing support; design, analysis and documentation tasks to be

performed, the methodology and approach, quality checklists and templates- Review and Approve IN ORDER TO ensure that the process and approach is adequate to validate the designs.

Development :- Guide the team in developing optimized high quality software , perform software code reviews & Unit test plan reviews, conduct independent testing and sign off deliverables release for testing stage IN ORDER TO build application conforming to project standards and requirements.

Systems Testing:- Lead the team for integration/system/performance testing based on integration and system test plans and supports UAT IN ORDER TO ensure defect free program/modules release

Warranty & Maintenance:- Review the production issue analysis and fixes, interface with customer to clarify issues; Participate in analysis of incoming cases/tickets, assign tickets to team

members, track fixing of tickets and verification of the fixes, tracking of SLAs, performing root cause analysis of defects and elimination of root causes, running process improvement initiatives such as Brite initiative to reduce defects IN ORDER TO ensure issue fixes in timely manner and with minimal production impact (adherence to SLA) and close production issues and improve application performance

Project Management:- Assign work to engineers in accordance with project plan and schedules Provide inputs to managers for preparation of weekly/monthly status reports Acts as a single point

of contact Internal to Infosys and to customer for projects of small size IN ORDER TO deliver to planned timelines

Talent Acquisition and Management: Screen resumes to shortlist candidates for Engineer roles; Conduct interviews for recruitment of Engineers; Performance appraisals of reporting engineers.; Provide feedback and mentor the team. Define training and certification needs IN ORDER TO acquire people and manage careers.

Quality Management:- Prepare checklists based on client specific requirements; Perform quality checks of engineers work products against defined quality checklists; Perform Defect analysis

and help EM to implement defect prevention strategies; IN ORDER TO ensure that the process and checks help improve the deliverables quality

Knowledge Management:- Review of BOKs and Approve.; Conduct knowledge sharing sessions within teams.; Publish knowledge artifacts and assets in common forums (Kshop, Account Portal

etc). IN ORDER TO enhance knowledge sharing across teams and improve productivity

Pre-sales:- Prepare Case studies; Present case projects during customer visitsProvide support to EM in preparation of the responses to proposals/RFIs.IN ORDER TO showcase Infosys capabilities to customers and prospects.

Client Management:- Interact with customer for seeking clarifications, resolving technical issues, for acceptance of deliverables IN ORDER TO deliver to customer satisfaction

Skill/Competency Requirements

Requirements Engineering: Knowledge of Requirement Capture, change management Process and Requirements Analysis Methodologies and Tools.

Design : Knowledge of Engineering design principles, Design process/standards and Design tools Principles of product tolerance and manufacturing methods

Product Testing: Knowledge of Test Set-up (techniques, best practices, instrumentation) and test process (techniques, tools & best practices)

Product Knowledge: Knowledge of Product development process, Product specification (structure, functionality and performance, standards and regulations)

Analytical Ability: Breaks down the problem into its constituent parts to get a better understanding of issues Evaluates the available solution options while solving problems

Customer Orientation (Internal/External): Seeks to understand customer needs and builds credibility with the customer by providing inputs on solutions Integrates client feedback and delivers according to agreed specifications and timelines in order to ensure highest level of client satisfaction Proactively identifies red flags in own work output and escalates them to the manager for immediate action

High Impact Communication: Builds context and common platform and uses appropriate data/examples/anecdotes to support complex ideas, adapts the message to the audience group for good understanding Understands others points of views and uses logic to bring out the reasons for disagreements and discusses them openly to convince others or to arrive at a common understanding while keeping the business intent in mind Highlights the key takeaways several times, involves the audience frequently, encourages questions to create buy-in and tactfully manages difficult questions
