As Quality Assurance Manager at DB, you will be responsible for leading and managing the company’s Quality Management System nationally, ensuring alignment with HEINEKEN standards to deliver safe, high-quality products from supplier to consumer. This includes oversight of compliance, food safety, ISO certification, internal and external audits, and complaints and claims management. You will lead the Food Safety Community, support continuous improvement initiatives such as Total Productive Management (TPM), and maintain DB’s certifications. The role also involves mentoring quality teams, promoting a positive quality culture, and ensuring compliance with health and safety obligations.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead and manage the Quality Management System across all DB Breweries sites, including the Food Safety Programme, maintaining certifications (ISO 9001, FSSC22000) and ensuring compliance with Heineken and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate reporting and integration of quality-related systems with Information Systems, Supply Chain, and external organisations; oversee HeiQuest, Labstar, TPM, and other HEINEKEN initiatives within the QMS.
  • Manage complaints, claims, and product recall processes to ensure swift resolution of quality issues and alignment with the DB Crisis Management System.
  • Lead and coach quality and food safety teams, fostering a strong quality culture aligned with DB’s purpose, values, and behaviours across the business.
  • Drive continuous improvement by setting quality objectives, supporting TPM methodology, leading internal audits, and providing technical guidance and training.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance under the Health and Safety at Work Act, including incident reporting and hazard identification.
  • Perform additional duties as required, maintaining core competencies and supporting evolving business needs.

Your background and experience:

  • Tertiary qualification and NZ Certificate in Quality Assurance (or equivalent) required.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a quality, food safety, or production environment, including supervisory or managerial responsibilities.
  • Deep knowledge of ISO 9001, FSSC22000, and food safety standards.
  • Confidence in leading teams, influencing stakeholders, and embedding a quality-first mindset.
  • A solutions-focused, systems thinker who thrives in a collaborative, high-performance environment.
  • Familiarity with TPM, internal auditing, and working in a global framework.
  • Must have valid New Zealand work rights.
