At InterContinental Auckland, located on the sparkling waterfront of the Waitematā Harbour, we are looking for a meticulous and motivated Finance Officer to join our Finance team. This is a pivotal role supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the hotel and assisting our Finance and Business Support Manager with the smooth oversight of the purchasing area.

- Champion Financial Accuracy: Support daily financial operations including accounts payable and receivable, ensuring our records are precise, compliant and up to date.
- Drive Month-End Success: Assist with month-end closing processes, financial reporting and reconciliations to help deliver timely, insightful results to leadership.
- Support Strategic Oversight: Partner with the Finance & Business Support Manager to maintain strong oversight of the purchasing area, ensuring processes are efficient, transparent and in line with IHG standards.
- Empower Financial Planning: Contribute to the preparation of departmental budgets and forecasting activities that guide our hotel’s commercial decision-making.
- Ensure Audit Readiness: Play a vital role in internal and external audits, helping us meet compliance expectations and maintain financial integrity.
- Build Operational Synergy: Collaborate with teams across the hotel to streamline finance-related workflows and support exceptional guest experiences through behind-the-scenes excellence.
- Champion Internal Controls: Conduct regular internal control checks to uphold financial compliance and protect the business from risk.
- Grow with Purpose: Expand your knowledge and grow your career in a supportive, globally connected finance environment, where continuous improvement is always encouraged.
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- At least one to two years of experience in a similar finance role, preferably in a hotel or service-based environment.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail with strong analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Familiarity with financial systems and reporting tools.
- A collaborative spirit with the ability to support multiple finance functions effectively.
- A passion for True Hospitality and creating seamless support systems for operational excellence.
