What You'll Do
- Oversee the comprehensive development of regulations that advance government objectives, ensuring full compliance with legislative standards and adherence to best practice methodologies throughout each phase.
- Offer advice on public policy matters, leveraging your extensive understanding of regulatory structures and their practical application.
- Facilitate Select Committee processes by preparing documentation, addressing inquiries, and ensuring all legislative milestones are met.
- Collaborate constructively with operational colleagues across multiple departments to ensure the seamless enactment of new regulatory frameworks and foster robust partnerships.
- Engage thoughtfully with both internal and external stakeholders to solicit insights, and guarantee that proposed regulations are appropriately tailored and broadly endorsed.
- Monitor progress against established deliverables, proactively identifying potential risks or challenges and proposing considered solutions.
- Contribute meaningfully to ongoing improvement initiatives by imparting your expertise in regulatory design.
- Remain informed of current legislation, emerging policy trends, and exemplary practices within the public sector landscape.
- Prepare clear and comprehensive reports as well as briefings for senior leadership, ensuring complex subject matter is conveyed effectively to diverse audiences.
- Extensive experience in the development and implementation of public policy within governmental or public sector environments, particularly involving legislative procedures.
- A demonstrable history of designing resilient regulatory frameworks that withstand scrutiny and achieve intended societal outcomes.
- Thorough comprehension of sound regulatory process principles as they pertain to various stages of policy formulation.
- Outstanding relationship management capabilities enabling effective collaboration with both operational colleagues and external partners.
- Superior written communication skills evidenced by the preparation of reports, briefings, and legislative documents tailored for varied audiences.
- Experience supporting Select Committee or analogous parliamentary processes is highly advantageous.
- Proficiency in managing concurrent priorities while sustaining meticulous attention to detail under stringent deadlines.
- Exemplary judgement when navigating intricate issues or ambiguous scenarios within a rapidly evolving policy context.
