Mō te tūranga mahi | About the role
We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join us in the Technical Delivery and Quality department to deliver high quality test outcomes.
The Quality Engineer role is responsible for assessing the quality of products delivered by cross-functional teams. This includes analysis of acceptance criteria to determine the scope of testing, preparation and execution of tests - both functional and automated - to demonstrate quality and identify defects.
This 12-month fixed-term role is in our Technology Services & Platforms Agile Release Train, with a focus on cloud-hosted Oracle HCM.

We are looking for someone who is equally capable and enthusiastic about writing and performing manual functional tests and automating tests. You will be able to use automated testing to accelerate functional validation of a story, determine when to automate and when not to and be able to articulate why.

Mōu | About you
We are looking for someone who is equally capable and enthusiastic about writing and performing manual functional tests and automating tests. You will be able to use automated testing to accelerate functional validation of a story, determine when to automate and when not to and be able to articulate why.
You can determine if we are building the thing right, but more importantly are we building the right thing.
You will have:
- University graduate or equivalent experience
- 2+ years' experience in test automation or development, or extensive functional testing experience
- Demonstrated experience in the application of testing techniques, understanding of context-driven and risk-based testing approaches
- A thorough understanding of the full test life cycle, particularly as it fits within the overall solution development life cycle
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to adopt new ways of working & commitment to continuous learning
- Experience working in a Scaled Agile (SAFe) environment
- Strong customer focus and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders
- Oracle HCM and ERP classic and responsive UX workflows
- Line manager workflows for Onboarding, Offboarding, Change Assignments, Compensation, Career and Performance
- HR user workflows for New Person, Employment, Compensation, Journeys, Hiring, Workforce Structures, Performance
- Dashboard, BI report, and Scheduled Processes
- Redwood UX workflows for HCM and ERP Modules
- Procurement, Project management, Contracts, Procure to Pay, Receivables
- User role management
- Applying config changes to assist with environment refreshes
- Must have demonstratable experience in updating automated test scripts to Redwood UX.
- Hands on coding experience with test automation using Java, TestNG, Selenium WebDriver, running in GitHub Actions.
- Experience with software development tools such as IntelliJ and other IDEs, Maven, GIT, Postman, SoapUI, database tools etc and DevOps practices such as CI/CD pipelines.
