The Role

The purpose of this role is to plan, program, manage and monitor the delivery of the construction works for the assigned projects, such that the project goals (Engineering compliance, Quality, Financial and Environmental performance) are achieved. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure project objectives align with Tender and Quality Plans.
  • Manage resources, subcontractors, suppliers, and material ordering for efficiency.
  • Provide weekly progress reports, update programs, and assist with variations and claims.
  • Act as a liaison between Mills Albert, Engineers, Principals, and Clients.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, environmental, and health & safety standards.
  • Monitor costs, forecast completions, and ensure timely closure of work packages.
  • Support tendering and maintain up-to-date "As Built" records.

To be successful:

Skills

We are looking for either a Site Engineer looking to step up or an experienced Project Engineer with a proven track record of managing small-to-large-scale civil construction projects. You will bring strong leadership and project ownership skills, along with the following:

  • A solid understanding of NZS 3910 and project management standards
  • Previous experience in managing similar projects
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with an ability to mentor and develop teams
  • Excellent planning, programming, and budgeting capabilities
  • Proven ability to identify and manage project variations and pricing input
  • Strong client relationship management experience
  • Thorough knowledge of HSEQ legislative requirements
  • A Full NZ Class 1 Driver's license
  • Residency in New Zealand (Please note: We are not an accredited employer)
