Communications Advisor

Are you an experienced communications professional with a passion for engagement and building positive reputation? We're looking for a part-time Communications Advisor who can hit the ground running, supporting the Senior Communications Advisor with developing and delivering communications strategies, driving engagement, and creating compelling content for internal and external audiences. You'll play a key role in strengthening our reputation as a high-quality regional tertiary provider.

In this role, you will:

• Assist the Senior Communications Advisor to develop and implement specific communication plans that support strategic objectives.
• Write and edit content for newsletters, web, and internal communications
• Be a kaitiaki of the NMIT brand and ensure consistent, high-quality messaging
• Help coordinate photography and source imagery
• Liaise with staff across the organisation to gather and share information
• Support with internal and external event management

About you / He kōrero mōu

To be successful in this role you will need:

• A relevant qualification and / or 5+ years' experience in a communications, public relations or marketing role
• Experience using digital communication tools and social media platforms
• Ability to create engaging, audience-focused content for different platforms
• Confidence working with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
• Experience supporting or delivering communication plans and campaigns
• Strong organisation and time management skills
• A collaborative, proactive attitude and a willingness to pitch in where needed
