We’re searching for an experienced and visionary Theatre Services Manager to join a forward-thinking surgical hospital that’s earned its reputation as a centre of excellence in perioperative care.

With seven fully equipped theatres, 40 inpatient beds, and a modern Day Surgery Unit, this hospital delivers a wide range of specialities — from orthopaedics and neurosurgery to gynaecology, spine, and general procedures.

As a cornerstone of the Senior Leadership Team, this role puts you at the heart of surgical performance, leading a talented, multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, efficient, and compassionate care to the wider Waikato community.

What You'll Be Doing As Theatre Services Manager, you will:
  • Lead and manage the perioperative workforce across seven fully digital operating theatres
  • Develop and implement service strategies that enhance clinical outcomes, patient experience, and operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with senior leaders, surgeons, and specialists to ensure excellence in theatre utilisation, staffing, and care delivery
  • Support a patient-centred culture where safety, innovation, and partnership drive every decision
  • Manage budgets, forecast theatre resources, and oversee quality initiatives and accreditation standards
  • Inspire and support a high-performing team through coaching, mentorship, and structured development pathways
What You’ll Bring
  • 5+ years’ leadership experience in a perioperative or theatre environment
  • Tertiary qualification in Nursing, Health Management, or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated budget and resource management capability
  • Outstanding people leadership skills, with experience in performance development and conflict resolution
  • A strategic thinker who can translate clinical needs into operational excellence
  • A strong commitment to patient safety, continuous quality improvement, and inclusive leadership
What’s In It for You?
  • Excellent salary tailored to your skills and leadership impact
  • Fully funded health insurance, including pre-existing conditions
  • Christmas & New Year breaks for genuine downtime
  • Nursing Council-approved PDRP and professional development support
  • Flexible work arrangements that support work-life balance
  • Relocation assistance for eligible candidates
  • Long service and loyalty bonuses, including extra leave and recognition awards
  • Exclusive discounts from national wellness, retail, and lifestyle partners
  • Employee Wellbeing Programme and free annual health checks
  • Be part of the Employee Rainbow Network and an organisation that champions DEI
Why This Role, Why Now?
This is more than just a management role — it's your opportunity to leave a legacy. You’ll be leading in a modern, purpose-built facility where patient-first values are more than words — they’re lived through collaborative leadership, cutting-edge technology, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

In a hospital that’s designed to serve generations, you’ll have the autonomy, support, and vision to shape theatre services for years to come.
